Ten Best DIY Programs For Weddings

With all of the craft papers, stamps and printing options available today, it is very easy to make your own wedding programs.  Not only is it cost effective, but it allows you to add more personality to your styling as well.

Some of the essentials that you might want to include in your program:

  • your names
  • date
  • location and time
  • order of events
  • list of bridal party
  • thank you’s (to parents, guests, etc.)
  • reception information

I went out searching for some of the best programs for weddings that I could find that were unique, easy to make and full of style.  Here is the list of the top ten that I came up with.  More details can be found by clicking on each photo.

1.  PROGRAMS THAT DOUBLE AS A CD:

Programs that double for CD by Style Me Pretty.

A white CD case acts as the cover for this great program idea.  Decorate the outside with stamps, insert your program pages and slip in a CD of your ceremony music!  This then doubles as a program and wedding favor.  Just click on the photo for all the details on putting this together.

2.  PROGRAM USING RUBBER STAMPS AND WOOD GRAIN PAPER:

You get a unique look for a wedding program when you use a wood grain paper.  This would be perfect for a rustic or outdoor wedding.

A custom stamp makes it easy to pound through making these programs in no time!

The pages get tied together with a simple string that matches the stamp color and should coordinate with the color of your wedding.

3.  FAN PROGRAMS WITH A TWIST:

Fan programs are very popular with outdoor weddings as they help to keep guests cool when the temperature rises.  This particular design is especially fun with the bird theme and the fun surprise on the back……a few wedding related games for the guests to play!

4.  EASY AND ECONOMICAL WEDDING PROGRAM:

These programs were made to match with the theme of the wedding invitations.  This is a nice idea to keep things consistent and uniform.

5.  BURLAP AND CRAFT PAPER PROGRAMS:

Get a cool vintage look by using burlap and scrap-booking paper.  The printed material inside was done in a text to go along with the style and the pages were sewn to the cover with one straight seam.

6.  BROWN PAPER BAG WEDDING PROGRAMS:

Here is a little inspiration for you!  This project was actually done by silk screening.  You don’t have silk screening equipment?  Then try drafting out your program in Word or Photo-shop and running a flat bag through your colored printer.  If you have trouble with that, you could try printing on freezer paper first and then position that onto the bag for rubbing the design on to. I have directions for doing this on wood which would be the same technique.  Just make sure your bag is on a solid hard surface.

7.  NEWSPAPER STYLE SCROLLS:

A scroll seems so official and its an easy way to display them in a basket or container for passing out.  I particularly like this newspaper style program.

8.  MONOGRAM STAMP WEDDING PROGRAM:

A simple monogram stamp on the cover of a wedding program makes an elegant statement.

Then simply attach your program pages with a colored ribbon to match your wedding.
